BLS Certification Classes: How Do I Get A BLS Certificate?

BLS certification classes are now available in order for you to get a BLS certificate. Kansas City First Aid offers three different Basic Life Support (BLS) certification classes. BLS is a level care which patients will receive in an emergency.
Whether you work in the medical industry, are in school to become a nurse or physician, or are an Emergency Medical Technician, police officer, or firefighter, when you get BLS certified you can show your employer that you have the training you need to improve patient outcomes.
We offer three BLS certification classes so you can obtain an BLS certificate:
BLS Certification for Healthcare Providers CPR Course
If you are a first-time student or your certification has expired, this is the best option for you. The American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Course is designed to teach the skills of CPR for victims of all ages. Other skills include ventilation with a barrier device, a bag-mask device, use on an automated external defibrillator (AED), and relief of a foreign-body airway obstruction. This course is intended for participants who provide healthcare to patients in a wide variety of settings, and there is no prerequisite.
This course takes between three to four hours, and when completed, participants will receive an American Heart Association BLS certification for Healthcare Providers CPR/AED course completion care which is valid for two years.
BLS Certification for Healthcare Providers CPR Online Renewal
This course is designed specifically for experienced healthcare providers who have prior CPR training and need recertification. The online course provides the opportunity to refresh sills and recertify without taking the full content course in a traditional classroom. A brief Skills Test in a classroom must also be completed to receive a new completion card. Prerequisite: Current BLS for Healthcare Providers course completion card.
The American Heart Association BLS CPR for Healthcare Providers Online Renewal Course provides a review for Healthcare professionals who have prior CPR training. This program recognizes that healthcare professionals have the knowledge and skills required from prior CPR training and years of patient care. The course provides the opportunity to refresh skills and recertify without having to take the full content course in a traditional classroom.
Once you complete the online course, contact our American Heart Association Training Site to register for a skills test within 60 days. After you have completed both sections of the course, we will issue an American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers Course completion card.
Skills Test for BLS Certification for Healthcare Providers Online Renewal
The Skills Evaluation for BLS Certification involved hands-on scenarios in a classroom. Successful completion enables you to receive a new course completion card.
